HTML Search Boxes
Use these search boxes to put an MD Consult search form anywhere — on your start page, on your library web page, or on your intranet. With some basic HTML knowledge, you can even change the styling and display. We've provided two sample search boxes for you to start with.
A simple all-section search: This search box will initiate a search on all of the areas on MD Consult
To use this simple all-section search box on your site, just copy-and-paste the following HTML:
Select-a-section search: This search box allows you to search all sections of the site, or just one section. It also includes the option to search First Consult. If you do not have access to First Consult, simply remove that as an option when you set up this form.

Google Toolbar
If you use Google Toolbar, you can add a special MD Consult button to it, which gives you the ability to search MD Consult directly from your Google Toolbar. It also provides the latest medical news headlines from MD Consult directly to your web browser.

Firefox/Internet Explorer Tools
If you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer 7, you can add an MD Consult option to your Firefox / IE7 search area which appears in the upper-right corner of your browser window. Click here to add this feature.

MD Consult Search Widget
The new MD Consult search widget is available to help your users gain quick access to the MD Consult standard subscription content via your institution's intranet site. Following input of one line of code, a widget will appear on your site of choice.
Users can access content on MD Consult via the widget in two ways:
- Enter a search term to reveal the results and subsequently access them on MD Consult
- Browse for a quick reference topic like the Recommended Resource pages on MD Consult
To add the search widget to your site, simply embed this line of code into your web page:

MD Consult Desktop Icon
For quick and easy access to MD Consult from any computer, simply add the MD Consult desktop icon:
- Save the MDConsult.ico file to the desktop of each computer station
- Open up the browser on each computer and visit http://www.mdconsult.com/offers/standard.html
- Within the browser, go to File → Send → Shortcut to desktop
- Right click on your MD Consult shortcut and choose Properties → Change Icon
- It will ask where to find the new icon. Choose "Browse" and select "Desktop"
- Highlight the MDConsult.ico file and click Apply.
- IMPORTANT: Change the URL to http://www.mdconsult.com, click Apply or OK
